This new and not overly long 5904 metre Ross Watson course was only opened in April 2011 but promises a challenge to golfers of all levels due to its undulating fairways, sloping greens, bunkering and the many holes where water must be factored into your calculations. Tips from our former
PGA pro that will improve your game on our Championship courses
Generally we use 328 Bermuda grass
on our Queensland greens which works very well in our tropical climate.
However, this type of grass is grainy and will not hold even
an elevated shot unlike the bent or poanna grass you might be used to
- so allow for more run by pitching farther from the hole.
If the pin is quite close to
the front of the green, consider pitching short
ofthe green with a
lower numbered club.

where the ball can run over 80 metres - which sounds great - but
watch your approaches to his elevated greens or try a Norman course

over the 2 metre lip might require your personal excavator! The new Ross Watson designed Palms at Sanctuary Cove is a challenge with its sculptured bunkers and undulating greens.
